Testimonials

Although I was aware of the R&D Tax Relief scheme, I had been led to believe by other accountants that we were unlikely to qualify. I decided to pursue a claim using R&D Tax and Grants (RDTG) as they told us we had a very good case for a claim covering the previous two tax years. A few weeks after a single meeting with Brendan Molloy, we were successful in our claim and received over £200,000 from HMRC. This money has obviously been of huge help to our company

I found the whole process extremely simple and efficient.  One of the key things for us, as a very busy company, was how little input was needed from my team into the process which allowed us to focus on our core business. All that was required was an explanation of the nature of our products and the related R&D and as a result of that meeting I had to prepare some figures to support the claim, which was a very straightforward task.  From our point of view that was essentially it.

The secret to RDTG’s success is their knowledge of how HMRC work and their relationship with the relevant R&D departments.

We shall definitely be using RDTG again in the future and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to others.

We are extremely pleased with the service provided by R&D Tax and Grants Limited.  They got back for us almost £15,000 in corporation tax within a couple of months of our initial meeting with Brendan.

The money is a very welcome cash injection in these difficult times and even more pleasing given we did not know we were entitled to this tax incentive until R&D Tax and Grants got involved.

We look forward to working with them in the future.

R & D Tax and Grants Limited managed to attain our company a Corporation Tax rebate in the region of £7,000.

We were unaware that we were entitled to such a significant refund and are extremely grateful for the insight and assistance provided by R & D in this matter.

Our experience with R & D to date has been extremely rewarding and we anticipate a positive outcome with regard to the next set of figures which they examine for us.

We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending their services to others.

CROSBIE CASCO LIMITED

Michael Varty, managing director of Crosbie Casco, was approached by Brendan Molloy of R&D Tax and Grants in order to assess the possibility of reclaiming corporation tax. “I have to admit to being sceptical at first – I think accountants shouldn’t be salesmen as well!”, said Michael. “I was aware of the tax reclamation scheme but Brendan offered to look into the possibilities for us on a no win, no fee basis. Our reclaim came in two tranches and the first took around six weeks, with the second taking just over two weeks. We are wholly dependent on the economic state of the construction industry and are very grateful to R&D Tax and Grants –It’s an awful lot of money and it came at exactly the right time for us.”

THE CUBRA CASTING COMPANY LIMITED

Managing Director Adrian Banks said, “We found out about R&D Tax and Grants via a consultant who was working with us. He passed their details on to me and I contacted Brendan Molloy. I was slightly apprehensive at first but thought it was something worth looking at. Brendan explained that we had nothing to lose by exploring the possibility of reclaiming corporation tax as they operate a no win no fee policy.

“We discussed a raft of projects we were engaged in including projects where we were making energy saving and projects where there was a strong element of technology and innovation. We carry out this kind of thing all the time and think nothing of it, and I certainly wouldn’t have considered it to be research and development!

“As an example, a customer from the South East had approached us with an idea for a light-sensitive tap. Their designer didn’t know how to achieve it. So we had a few meetings at their base, put development time into the project and found it was achievable , gave them our findings and then it all went quiet. After a few months the company got back to us – they had gone to China to get our design made, but the Chinese couldn’t help, so they were honest enough to put their cards on the table and asked us to help them. We’re now making that product for them here in the UK.

“From our first meeting in March 2009 R&D Tax and Grants have made everything so easy; I didn’t have to give excessive time to meetings and we received our cheque for £17,000 in September. As we are continuously developing new product we will be working with them again in 2010. R&D Tax and Grants have done an excellent job and I have already recommended them to three companies nationally, and will continue to do so.”

GREENMECH LIMITED

Tony Turner, CEO of Greenmech, says, “We were regularly spending £250,000 per annum on R&D, but didn’t know about the scheme. We were introduced to R&D Tax and Grants by a second party. We are working on a raft of projects and Brendan Molloy came out to see us in early 2009.

“R&D Tax and Grants have helped us claw back £69,000 in corporation tax from a three year period in just six months. They offer a very good service that’s fast and efficient. It’s also ongoing, so we’ll be working with them in the immediate future to claw back more.”

NEUTEQ EUROPE LIMITED

Mark Hendel, sales director at Neuteq Europe, said, “I was very surprised when I found out about the HMRC scheme for corporation tax refunds for research and development. We operate a continuous development process, and there is nothing out there that publicises this scheme. Mike Keyse from R&D Tax and Grants came out to see us and we believed in him from the outset. We found we were eligible for a repayment of £44,000. In order to meet a HMRC statutory deadline, they put the initial support application together in an incredible 48 hours – I think we broke all records!

“I would definitely recommend R&D Tax and Grants to any company involved in R&D.  The process was so easy, and well worth the effort. We will certainly be using them next year and for the foreseeable future.”

SMS ELECTRONICS LIMITED

Mark Goldby, director of SMS Electronics, said, “We were cold-called by R&D Tax and Grants in July 2009. I had heard of the R&D corporation tax relief scheme and had been approached by audit firms before, but their evaluations had failed to prove that we could qualify. I think the qualifying criteria has been relaxed slightly since, so when R&D Tax and Grants rang, I thought I would explore the possibility again, and their “no win no fee” basis was attractive to me.

“Brendan Molly came to offer a brief assessment and my technical manager explained the background to our business. Brendan saw the opportunities early on and thought certain areas of our business would qualify.

“We were able to prove that the investment we had made on Process Enhancement qualified for a repayment of corporation tax under the HMRC rules. We could demonstrate that we had been innovative in an approach to a solution which included reducing failures and trying to eradicate non-conformance in our processes.

“We signed the forms in mid September 2009 and received our repayment cheque from HMRC for £96,000 just over four weeks later. The process covered two periods, going back to 2007.

“As part of the exploration discussions at our second meeting, R&D Tax and Grants were able to identify other areas and opportunities that would qualify for R&D tax reclamation and we are now pursuing these claims with the help of R&D Tax and Grants. We’re absolutely delighted with the results and will continue to build on our relationship with R&D Tax and Grants going forward.”
